DBCS Reminder of Week 10/12/13

Dear Parents,

This Sat, 10/12, DBCS will have regular classes. However, please note that next week, 10/19, there will be no Chinese school, as the DBHS classrooms won't be available on that day.

Last week, we had a successful Open House event. Many parents met with teachers.Such communication is very helpful for improving teaching and learning. Please do not hesitate to share your ideas and concerns with us. We hope all our students, other than students in two conversation classes, can learn Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing to the standard of our curriculum and textbooks. To achieve that goal, we need all our teachers, students and parents to try their best.

Regarding our elective classes, we now have the possibility of adding an Beijing Opera class. The class will be taught by great Beijing Opera artists, and open to both parents and students. Interested parents and students can sign up at the office. If we have enough interested students, arrangements will be made for this class. If parents have good ideas or suggestions for elective classes, please let us know.

Many classes will have mid-term exam. Please remind your kids to prepare.

各位家長，

本週六，中文學校照常上課。提醒大家，下週六 （10/19)，中文學校不上課。鑽石吧高中需要使用所有的教室。

上週六，我們的家長和老師的座談會非常成功。這樣的交流對於提高中文教學水平非常有幫助。請各位繼續把您的想法和建議告訴我們。我們希望，除了個別會話班的學生，其他所有的中文學校學生都需要在聽說讀寫四個方面，按照我們的教學大綱以及教科書的要求，取得進步。為了實現這個目標，我們需要老師，家長，和同學都付出努力。

才藝課方面，我們現在有可能增設一個“京劇班”，向中文學校學生和家長開放。課程由著名京劇藝術家教授。感興趣的家長和學生，可以到辦公室登記。如果由足夠多的學生和家長有興趣，學校將做出相應的安排。家長如果有其他的關於才藝課的意見和建議，請和我們交流。

許多班將在本週六進行期中考試，希望家長提醒同學複習。
