DBCS Reminder of Week 5/18

Dear Parents,
This Sat, 5/18, Chinese school will have regular classes. Most will have final exam.
Our exciting Honor’s Day Performance and Ceremony is coming on May 25. The event will be at the DBHS Theater. Many of our elective classes will perform. Some of our prospective elective class teachers will perform. Some of our teachers will perform and several our talented students will perform dance, violin, and others. We are excited to be able to use the concert piano of DBHS this time. We plan to have about 4-5 performances on piano. Many of our students are excellent piano players. We expect to see great performances. I have learned that we can still take some students to perform on piano. If you are interested to have your child perform, please send the following information, name, age, years of playing, level or awards elsewhere. Our event organizer will contact you soon.
After the event, our parent organization, Diamond Bar Chinese American Association will host an end-of-year lunch party at the lunch area of Diamond Bar High School. All parents, students, teachers, and TAs are welcomed to join.  
May 31 will be the deadline for early registration discount. If you have not done so, please find time to register.
Unfortunately, our school does not have summer camps. Two years ago, DBCS gave up the after-school program and the summer program due to insufficient enrollment and inadequate management. We have seen the surge of interests for summer programs and will explore the possibility to have one in the future. Meanwhile, we asked our teachers to make suggestions about internet Chinese resources that students can use during the summer. We will post the information on our website soon.

5月25日，中文學校結業式頒獎儀式和文藝匯演將在9：00－11：30于高中禮堂舉行。我們的一些才藝班同學們，新才藝課老師，中文老師，以及一些才藝優秀的同學將為大家獻上一場精彩的演出。這次演出，高中同意為我們提供鋼琴。我們計劃有4－5個鋼琴表演的節目。目前，還可以安排幾個同學表演鋼琴。如果您有興趣，請把有意願參演同學的姓名，年齡，彈琴的年份，以及目前水平（評級，演出等經歷），等信息發給我們。我們這次活動的組織者將盡快和您聯繫。
頒獎式和文藝匯演之後，鑽石吧華協將舉辦慶祝學年結束的聚餐。歡迎所有老師，同學，家長還有TA都來參加。地點為高中的午餐區。
不少家長詢問暑期班情況，目前，中文學校沒有暑期班。兩年前，由於生源不足，管理不善，中文學校停辦了課後班和暑期班。現在，很多家長向我們表達了對暑期班的興趣。學校將認真研究今后開辦暑期班的可能。今年暑假，我們請老師們整理了一些網上的資源信息，同學們可以在暑假愉快地鞏固和提高中文水平。相關信息很快將發佈在學校網站。
