Dear Parents,
9/22 will be our 5th week. With only a few exception (for those who registered in the last two weeks), parents and students should have decided the appropriate language level and elective class. After 4 weeks, there will be no refund for withdraws.
At DBCS, students’ safety is a very important concern for teachers and administrators. We want to make sure students can learn in a safe environment. In our Student Handbook, there are rules that students are required to follow at school. We need to educate our students about these rules. Here are several important measures that we are taking to ensure the safety:
1. Require lower level classes to have separate recess time. For classes lower than level 1, during recess time, teachers and TAs will supervise students. Students are required to go in and out the classroom as a group. They will not be allowed to wander around the building or campus by themselves.
2. No running (or other types of “speedy” and “physical” games, such as “tagging”) is allowed during recess. Parents and teachers, please advise students to observe this rule strictly.
3. We ask all teachers and TAs to help maintain order and safety when they can during recess. We also want to ask parents who are at campus during class times, please help and remind our students to enjoy their recess safely.
4. Diamond Bar Chinese American Association, our parent organization, is discussing about getting board members to help with the safety issue too.
5. Safety during drop-off and pick-up is also very important. Parents please remind our students about safety rules in parking lots and crowded places.
We hope we can work together to ensure a safe educational environment for our kids.
Also, we are trying to improve our utilization of technology in teaching and doing administrative tasks. We call for all parents and students to give us ideas and suggestions. We also need parent volunteers to help with technical details, particularly, we need help to make our website more informative and educational. Please let us know if you are willing to help.

各位家長，
9月22日將為中文學校第五週上課。除個別過去兩週報名的學生外，絕大多數同學應該已經確定自己的中文班級和才藝班級。請今後不再隨意轉班。
鑽石吧中文學校的老師和行政人員十分重視學生在校的安全問題。我們借的高中的教室。這給我們的學生提供了明亮，寬敞的學習環境。但是，作為高中，教室和教學區設計上缺乏對小朋友的安全問題的充分考慮。欄杆間距過大，處於二樓，都是值得擔心的問題。課間活動的時候，不同年齡的學生在一起玩，大一些的孩子的一些活動就可能碰到或者傷及小孩子。種種安全問題，學校，老師，助教們都非常重視，并在積極採取各種措施，確保學生的安全。年度的學生手冊中有關於學生在學校行為的規則，請家長閱讀并給學生解釋，囑托他們遵守規則，注意安全。以下是一些學校在確保安全方面一些措施和建議，希望我們共同努力，來為中文學校創造一個安全的教學環境：
1. 高低不同年級的學生採取錯時上下課，低年級同學課間由老師或者助教統一按照班級帶領到草地去活動，休息。所有同學都不允許在教學區範圍以外亂走動，嬉戲。
2. 禁止課間休息是玩一些危險的追逐，打鬧的遊戲。老師和家長請都要提醒學生注意安全。
3. 我們請老師和助教在課間盡量能在課間活動區幫助維持秩序，提醒同學們注意安全。請在學校的家長們也協助我們，當看到有可能危險的活動，請及時提醒。
4. 鑽石吧華協的理事們正在商討安排理事協助維持秩序，保障安全。我們應該很快看到他們的身影。
5. 接送孩子時在校門口和停車場的安全也非常重要。請家長教育好孩子，注意安全。
安全方面，必須做的更好。這需要我們每一個家長，學生，老師和行政人員的共同努力。家長們如果發現有問題隱患，請及時提醒。學校一定採取措施加強這方面的工作。
此外，學校近期將致力于加強多媒體教學和網站的使用。我們希望家長和學生能給我們提出建議。更需要一些有專長的家長能志願幫助我們改善學校的網站，讓網站成為一個信息的窗口，一個教學的工具，一個進一步加強中文學習的階梯。
