DBCS Reminder of Week 3/16

Dear Parents,

This Sat, 3/16, DBCS will have regular classes.

Registration for Regional Spring Academic Competition started last Sat. Please come to office to register if you have not done so. Participants in the past have showed great interests in Chinese after the competition. It is a great motivation for many of them.

March is "Speaking Chinese Month" and "Emergency Planning Month" at DBCS. Teachers are encouraging students to use Chinese while at Chinese School. We hope to get students to speak more Chinese at school. Also, we are trying to make it clear to our students about our plans in emergency situations. Some classes may arrange some drills.

For parents of young students, please come inside the building and pick up your kids, and do not ask them to wait at the front gate, especially if leaving school early at 11:30am.

本週六，中文學校正常上課。

南加州中文學校聯合會的春季學術比賽報名已經開始。希望家長和同學們積極報名。參加這類比賽對於發現同學們的中文特長，激發學習中文的興趣很有幫助。很多小朋友有了這種經歷后，學中文更上心了。

三月，中文學校開展“中文學校講中文”和“緊急情況處理訓練”等活動。課堂上，課間，老師都會鼓勵學生多説中文。我們希望讓中文學校的説中文環境更好。此外，我們在核桃學區，紅十字會等機構的幫助下，正在制訂和完善學校的緊急狀況處理計劃。一些班級將開始給學生講解或者進行演習。希望幫助我們的師生在面對緊急情況的時候能夠臨危不亂，從容應對。

提醒年齡小的同學家長，接孩子的時候，為了安全考慮，請到教室來而不是讓學生在學校門口等，特別是提前回家的時候。

春暖花開，家長會為家長開設的舞蹈班歡迎您的參加。地點為高中的Aerobic Room，時間為10：15am.
