DBCS Week 10/5 OPEN House

Dear Parents,

DBCS Open House (parent/teacher conference) will be this Sat, from 11:00-12:30pm. From 11:00-11:30, parents are welcomed to visit classrooms and observe class activities. After 11:30am, all teachers will be available to chat with parents about their teaching and discuss with parents about helping our kids improve Chinese. The location is in the DBHS  lunch area downstairs (with exception for conversation classes and Level 6 class as teachers of these classes are teaching elective classes).

This week, some students will be awarded the Student of the Month, nominated by their class teacher. Unlike the academic achievement award which usually given at the end of each academic year, this award is not solely based academic performance.Teachers nominated the winners for their efforts, participation, handwriting, or other aspects of Chinese study.

Last week, DBCS was given a trophy and $100 award for organizing participation of writing contest. We will use the fund to give prizes to students at our annual art and writing contest.

各位家長，

中文學校年度開放日為本週六，11：00-12：30pm. 11:00-11:30, 家長可以前往各教室旁聽。11：30-12：30， 各班老師會在樓下高中午餐區和家長座談，說明自己上課的要求和方法，聽取家長對教學工作的意見。會話班和六冊因為老師在教才藝課，家長可以另外和老師找時間交流。

週六，一些學生會得到每月之星的獎勵。每月之星獎勵同年終優秀學生奬不同，不完全依據學生的中文學習程度，老師們會根據學生的學習態度或者一些值得鼓勵的在校，在班表現提名，比如説上課積極發言，書寫工整等。

上週，鑽石吧中文學校獲得第二屆“文薪相傳作文比賽”的團體組織奬，得到獎盃一個和$100獎金。謝謝各位參加比賽的同學和家長。獎金將作為今年校內書畫和作文比賽的獎金一部分。
