Diamond Bar Chinese School Closure Extended to May 9

Dear Parents,

Hope everyone is coping with the challenging situation well. In this fight against the coronavirus, stay happy, stay health and stay strong.

By the directive from the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) that requires all schools within Los Angeles County to close through Tuesday, May 5, our school closure will be extended to May 9th.

During this period, our teachers will continue to assign homework and evaluate them to help students keep up their Chinese learning. Every week, homework will be sent to parents by teachers. Please reply upon receiving them. If you have not, contact school to figure out the problem. Once students are done with their homework, please send finished homework back by email.

There are many good online resources for students.

1. Meizhou Hua Yu, our textbook publisher has put audios, lesson PPT, and other materials online. http://www.mzchinese.net/Resources/Resource-English.htm. This is a good source of audio file for lesson material.

2. APP: Meizhou Chinese, you can search Meizhou Chinese in the app store.  You can use this app to listen, read along and practice Chinese.

3. App: there are many Chinese classics have apps that students can listen to, read, and learn. Search and you will find many of them.

各位家長，

希望大家在這段非常時期保持樂觀，保持健康。加州的陽光不會讓我們等太久。

按照洛縣教育辦規定，洛縣各類學校在5月5日之前必須停課，因此，中文學校目前定於5月9日恢復。當然，一切都需要看形勢的發展。

在這個階段，學校希望每一個老師和學生做到停課不停學，希望家長能夠做好協助工作，讓同學們保持中文學習的狀態。每週各班老師會給學生發家庭作業，作業包括課程複習，朗讀，背誦，閱讀，觀看等學生可以在家中自己完成的內容。希望家長予以協助。在收到家庭作業的時候，及時回覆老師，告知收到。在學生作業完成的時候，及時把作業交給老師，請老師評改。

一些在線的中文學習的資源對同學們會有很大的幫助

1. 美洲華語， 這是我們學校用的教材，網上有各課的錄音，課件等資料。http://www.mzchinese.net/Resources/Resource-English.htm.

2. 美洲華語的APP， 這是學校用的教材的APP，在APP Store查找Meizhou Chinese就可以找到。可以使用這個APP來听，讀，和學習。

3.App Store里有很多中文學習的APP，比如中文典籍，三字經，千字文等；成語故事，現代故事等等。家長可以給孩子下載一些。培養孩子中文學習的興趣。
