DBCS Reminder of Week 4/20

Dear Parents,

This Sat, 4/20, DBCS will have regular classes.

From this week, registration for next year starts. Parents can go office to fill the form and make payment.
For next academic year (Aug 24, 2013-May 24, 2014), the tuition remains the same as this year, at $450.
All returning students do not pay registration fee.
All early registration will enjoy a $50 discount (before May 31).
Referrers of  new students will be awarded $20 gift card.

We plan to make some adjustments for our elective classes. We want to hear your opinions and suggestions

Three current classes may be cut depending on registration: Sing and Play, Tennis, and Theater.

Five new classes are under consideration: Robotics, Choir, Flute, Chinese Classics Reading, Chinese Culture and History.

This Sat, we will invite the flute teacher to school at 11:30am to perform and explain this class to parents. Please come to the meeting room next to Room 256. We also want to hear from our parents about suggestions regarding our elective classes. Our goal is to provide high quality training that allows students to discover, explore and develop their talents. Parents know the best what our students need.

On our website, we sometimes post information about Chinese related activities for students. Please check the "Community Information" http://www.dbcaa.org/dbcaa/forumdisplay.php?fid=21, to see if you are interested in any.

We are working on some adjustments with our website, therefore, new registration forms are not uploaded at this time. Please see attachment for registration form (2013-14)

各位家長，

本週六，4月20日，中文學校正常上課。
本週起，下學年（2013－14）的註冊開始。家長們可以到辦公室領取表格和繳費。今年的學費同去年一樣，$450/年，所有在校學生免註冊費，5月31日前註冊減$50，介紹新家庭的家長可以得到$20禮卷。

我們現在在為明年的課程安排進行計劃和籌備，我們希望家長積極參與，提出意見和建議，幫助我們把課程和師資安排好！
目前，現有的三門才藝課如果註冊人數不夠，將不再開設：兒童唱游，網球，和表演班

五門新課正在考慮和評估中：Robotics （機器人）、合唱團、直笛、中華經典誦讀、中華文史講座。

本週六，我們請家長們在11：30到會議室（256教室旁）商討有關才藝課設置，師資安排等事宜，此外，我們請了“直笛”的老師來簡單表演和介紹一下直笛課。我們希望在加強中文教育之外，通過高質量的才藝課，給同學們提供一個能夠去發現，嘗試，和發展自己才藝的機會。家長最瞭解同學們的需求。我們可以一起把才藝課做的更好。

最近我們會在學校的網站轉貼一些暑假同中文有關的活動信息，請家長去“社區信息”欄目查看。
