Dear Parents,
This Sat, Chinese school will have regular classes from 9:00-12:30pm.
At DBCS, safety is always our top concern. The campus is a high school campus and most of our students are K-8 students. We will try our best to keep our students safe and we hope parents can also remind students some basic safety tips. For example, make sure your child knows whether you are going to pick him/her up at the gate or at the classroom. Small children without companion of bigger siblings should not wait for pick up at the gate. They can wait in the office area and we will take care of them. Also, do not run or play near the stairs to avoid accidents. Let’s work together to ensure a safe and pleasant learning experience for our students.
Some students’ choice of elective class is not on our file. You can try out different classes in the first several weeks. However, parents need to let their kids know which class they should go and should also notify us in case the student does not know or forget.
Our new elective class, Clay Sculpture is very popular. We may soon put a cap on the number of students allowed. Though the class is open to all parents and students, we want to give students the priority. If more parents are interested, we may arrange an earlier class for parents between 10:30-11:30am. Let us know if you are interested so we can count the numbers. In terms of material fee for this class, our teacher will prepare a kit that is good for 3 weeks and cost $20 each. It is also OK to bring your own material (same as the class material) for the class. Last week’ class is a pilot class, if you have taken the class, please give $5 material fee to our teacher.
From this week, we also make some changes in classroom assignment, please read the following carefully.

本週六，中文學校正常上課，9:00-12:30pm.
鑽石吧中文學校一向把學生的安全作為首要關注。我們的校園是高中的校園，但我們的學生更多的是中小學生。我們會盡可能做好，也希望家長們提醒同學們一些基本的安全注意事項。比如，讓孩子清楚知道何時何地來接，小孩子如果沒有年齡大的哥哥姐姐陪同，不能一個人到大門口等待家長來接。家長來遲的時候，請學生到辦公室來等。平時課間不要打鬧，離樓梯保持距離，以免意外。我們共同努力，給孩子們創造一個安全、快樂的學習環境。
相當多的同學的才藝課選項還沒有記錄在案。前幾周大家可以嘗試不同的才藝課，但請家長給辦公室說一下，也要讓孩子知道他們應該去的才藝課。
新開設的黏土捏塑課非常受歡迎，目前仍可以去選。原本這個課允許家長和學生一起選，目前學生人數較多，暫時不能向家長開放。如果希望選這門課的家長比較多，我們可以請老師在10:30-11:30am專門開一個給家長的課。有興趣的請告訴辦公室。經過和老師商量，這門課的材料費安排如下，老師會準備課堂用的材料，一份可以用3週，$20/份。學生也可以自備材料，但請務必和老師上課使用的材料相同。上週為體驗課，材料費收$5。請選修這門課的學生家長到辦公室繳費，或者直接帶給老師。
