Diamond Bar Chinese School Opening Day Notice
Welcome Back! I cannot wait to meet our students and parents after a year and half not seeing you in person, although we might not recognize each other since we will all WEAR MASK. Here are some important notices regarding the opening day:
8/14
8:30am, Open for registration, at the Diamond Bar High School Gate
9:00am, Classes begin
11:30am, Classes end (NO Elective Class in the first Month)
Recess time vary.
1. COVID related issues (in general, we follow rules and procedures suggested by CDC, LA County Health Department, and WVUSD, in addition we have our additional precautionary measures to make sure the impact of the COVID pandemic on our school will be minimal)
a. All students must sign a COVID health screening agreement. It can be signed here online: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/ ... 50/edit?ts=6111f76c, or you can sign a hard copy at the front gate when you send your child to school on 8/14.
b. All DBCS classrooms are USED BY and ONLY USED BY Chinese school teachers and students. No high school students will be accessing our classrooms. All classrooms will be sanitized before and after each use.
c. Students are required to Wear Masks Indoors all the time. Teachers will give enough recess time for students to go outside.
d. Students will be asked to take temperature at the time of classroom entry.
e. Recess will all be organized and will occur at different time for different classes. No student can meet or talk to students from other classes during the recess.
f. Students will be assigned a chair in his/her class and he/she will be the only one that use it for the rest of the semester.
g. In the first month of school, we will not have ANY elective classes to avoid contacts among students from different classes. So our class time will be 9:00-11:30am. Students are expected to arrive and leave the campus ON TIME.
h. For parents of younger students, please pick up your kids directly from the classroom. Keep social distancing. Please pick up ON TIME. Please pick up ON TIME.
i. We will not have high school students selling snacks and waters. Please bring waters for sure and snacks if necessary. Every classroom will have hand sanitizer. Only water is allowed in class. Juice and snacks must be taken during recess outdoors.
j. All our teachers, staff, and teaching assistants are fully vaccinated.
k. Parents are not allowed to sit in or stay with students during recess.
2. Registration Related Issues
a. Registration is still open, we will make class arrangement based on registration we have in hand, and if class size changes, we will make adjustment accordingly.
b. If you have only sent in registration but have yet to make payment, please bring check or cash to make payment on 8/14. We open at 8:30am for registration.
c. For new students who only did the online registration, we need you to fill up the part with medical and emergency contact information on our complete registration form. The form is on the page 3 of the form. You can do it at home and bring it to us or bring a copy back to fill up.
3. Learning Related Issues
a. Classroom Assignment will be posted online and through email
b. School Calendar will be posted online and through email
c. Textbook will be available for learning in classroom. Each student will be given the textbook but is required to not bring it home for the first week. The textbook will be left on his/her own seat.
d. When we are ready to start our elective classes, we will notify all parents and students and the options are may change.
e. We will assess student’s level after 4 weeks of study and make adjustment accordingly.
4. School communication
a. Official Chinese school communication will be through email and our website. Please do check and read. Most of the time, parents can find answers there.
