Dear Parents,
Happy Chinese New Year! This Sat, 2/17, DBCS will have the Chinese class for an hour from 9:00-10:00am. Then, we will have the Diamond Bar Chinese New Year Celebration Event. Parents please pick up your kids at 10:00am from their Chinese language classroom and participate our event.
Several classes will perform at the event as groups. They will follow their teacher and TAs to wait for their performance near the stage (DBHS Quad). Their performances should be over by 11:15am. Parents can then pick them up after their performances and join the event. Classes that will perform are: K1, K3, K4, Traditional level 1, level 2 (both simplified and traditional class). All other students must be picked up at the classroom at 10:00am. Please no late pick up.
Some students from two elective classes will also perform, they are all students from the Dance class and some students from the Chinese Yo-Yo class. Their performance will be between 11:30-12:00. Parents should pick them up and remind them to gather near the stage about 11:30am.
This year, we will give awards to many outstanding students at the event. The award ceremony will be about 11:30am. The list of students is attached to this message and posted on our website. Please make sure to attend the ceremony. Thanks for generous donation by Allen Ku and Ivy Lin, we have prices for students that won the awards. At the New Year Celebration Event, our awards are for essay writing (the winning essays are published in our special publication for the event)、handwriting (1st place for each class)、outstanding students from elective classes that highlight the Chinese culture heritage (Beijing Opera, Chinese Calligraphy) .
Please bring families and friends to attend the Diamond Bar Chinese New Year Celebration Event at DBHS this Sat, 2/17.
