This Sat, DBCS will have regular classes, from 9:00-12:30pm.
1. Last week, our annual poem recital competition had been a great success. 11 classes completed the competition. The list of winners is posted on our website
(http://www.dbcaa.org/dbcaa/viewt ... &extra=page%3D1)
Winners will get the opportunity to participate in the annual regional competition organized by SCCCS in April in Arcadia. Our competition is grouped by classes. However, the regional competition is grouped by age. There are three categories that students can choose from, Poem Recital, Classics Recital, and Speech. Each age group has a limit of 4 students for each school. All interested students can contact us about the opportunity, while the winners in each age group of our school-wide competition will have the priority. Parents can start to register for the regional competition from this Sat in office. For more information about the competition, please check the SCCCS website at
To encourage students to participate in this competition, school will pay half of the registration fee for each participating student. We will also organize training sessions for students from next Sat.
2. Many parents have been following the development of SCA-5. Diamond Bar Chinese American Association and Diamond Bar Chinese School are very concerned about the prospect that part of Prop 209 may get altered by SCA-5. The legislation is still in process. We follow the development closely and are doing everything we can to coordinate with other concerned organizations, contact elected officials and consider all possible actions. If you are still not familiar with the issue, check out the issue from links on our website.
