1. Q: Will the class be online the whole year or will change later?
A: We do not know for sure. We will certain do online in the beginning since in class instruction is not an option. Later, if school opens and they will certainly operate a hybrid system in which some may choose in class instruction but others can opt for online too. During that period of time, we will most likely remain online too since it will be very hard for us to operate a hybrid system and we do not have the resources to provide the in-class instruction part of the hybrid system in terms of cleaning and monitoring, etc. If, only if, the pandemic passes and life goes back to normal, no extra resources are needed and no stringent social distancing rules are needed, we can go back to in-class instruction. It is highly unlikely this will happen within this academic year.
3. Q: How many students are there in a class?
A: We do not know now. We expect class size will become stable after 2-3 weeks. However, we are committed to smaller class size for better online learning experience. As of now, we want to keep K and 1 levels under 6, and others under 10. However, we will make necessary adjustments based on registration. Class will change if a certain level gains more students after the school starts. So, please register early so that we can make better plans.
4. Q: Who will be my kid's teacher?
A: We do not know now. In order to provide the best possible online teaching, we will try to keep teachers teaching the same level classes as they did last year so they can concentrate on online teaching instead of preparing for new teaching materials. That is our general principle. However, some teachers have left our school and no longer available. Some adjustments have to be made. Therefore, we will only know when we get enough students and begin to make arrangements.
